How the Calculator Works

CoinCalculators pulls live network data from WhatToMine every few minutes — difficulty, block reward, and block time — then applies your GPU's hash rate and electricity cost to estimate daily revenue and profit per coin. Results are sorted by profitability so the most lucrative coin for your hardware appears first.

The formula is straightforward: (your_hashrate / network_hashrate) × (86400 / block_time) × block_reward × coin_price_usd − electricity_cost. What changes constantly is the network side — difficulty swings with miner count, and price moves with the market.

Supported Algorithms in 2026

GPU mining shifted significantly after Ethereum's Merge in 2022. The most active GPU-mineable algorithms today are KHeavyHash (Kaspa — highest GPU revenue), Ethash (Ethereum Classic), RandomX (Monero — CPU-friendly), Autolykos2 (Ergo), and X16R (Ravencoin). ASIC mining remains dominated by SHA-256 (Bitcoin) and Scrypt (Litecoin/Dogecoin).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GPU mining still profitable in 2026?
It depends on your electricity cost and hardware. Kaspa (KHeavyHash) has been the most profitable GPU algorithm since 2023. At $0.05–$0.08/kWh, modern cards like the RTX 4090 are solidly profitable. At $0.15+/kWh, margins narrow significantly. Use the calculator above with your actual electricity rate for a realistic estimate.

Why does profitability change so often?
Network difficulty adjusts as miners join or leave. Coin prices move with the market. Both affect your revenue side of the equation. CoinCalculators uses a 24-hour average difficulty by default, which smooths out short-term spikes and gives a more realistic forward-looking estimate.

What's the most profitable coin to mine right now?
Hit Calculate above — the table sorts by profitability automatically using live data. Historically Kaspa has been strong for GPU miners, and ETC remains a safe option for Ethash hardware. Rankings shift daily, so check regularly.

Does this work for ASIC miners?
Yes. Use the ASIC Calculator for preset ASIC hardware (S19 XP, Antminer KS3, L7, etc.), or the ASIC Profit Comparison to rank all ASIC devices by daily profit at your electricity price.
